The evidence
behind the site.

Research descriptions draw on the lab’s materials and linked institutional and scientific sources.

Research and biography

Content was reviewed against Dr. Abadir’s supplied 2026 CV, his Geroscience of Frailty presentation, the original Abadir Lab website, and current institutional pages. Selected publications link directly to their DOI records. Research descriptions distinguish laboratory models, human observational studies, and early clinical investigation.

Photographs and research artwork

The gold-and-teal mitochondrial artwork on the homepage is an AI-generated artistic illustration from the original site design. It represents the molecular research theme; it is not microscopy or a scientific diagram.

The principal lab photographs, microscopy images, and research illustrations were supplied by Peter Abadir. Scientific images retain their source annotations and scale bars. The mitochondrial drug-delivery illustration is credited to David Rini, ©2021 JHU, and is reproduced intact from the supplied presentation. Gallery views show the full supplied frames. Photographs document research, training, facilities, and events; they do not establish a current lab roster or clinical outcome.

The Geriatrics Engineering wordmark and Najim Dehak portrait come from the official program website. The AITC logo and portraits of Alexis Battle, Rama Chellappa, and Phillip Phan come from the official AITC website.

Live research and news feeds

The Updates page retrieves publication metadata from Europe PMC, media headlines via Google News RSS, and study records from ClinicalTrials.gov. Publication searches cover the past year and exclude preprints and retracted-publication records. News searches cover approximately the past 60 days. AITC is provided as a direct link to program announcements. ClinicalTrials.gov searches focus on interventional studies with a minimum age of 60 and outcomes related to function or independence. Sources refresh up to hourly; the interface distinguishes live source checks from saved fallback items. Titles, source names, dates, and links are displayed; article bodies are not reproduced. Social-network streams are not connected.

Frailty education

The frailty guide adapts the original Abadir Lab educational material and links to its source studies and videos. The video artwork credits Lohitha Kethu, with Vimeo uploads by Lohitha Kiran, as identified in the original materials. Full credit and further reading appear on the guide.
